What to expect from your coach.
My coaching philosophy: To center, listen, and honor clients’ goals and engage in the necessary action and heartwork to achieve those dreams.
So you’ve potentially signed up for an introductory coaching session, what can you expect? To be honest, our first few sessions will really be spent doing foundational work to understand your goals and what you’re hoping to work toward. As a coach, I do a lot of listening and provide you with resources (and homework!) to empower you to create and implement your action plan. Through our work, my job is cheerleader, guide, facilitator, and accountability partner. I am here to challenge and support you wholeheartedly and holistically. To me, I believe that our personal lives influence our professional lives and vice versa. As a coach, we can discuss it all, but it’s your call at the end of the day where we go and what actions you’ll take from it.
As a client, I assure you that I do everything on my part to respect confidentiality. I do not discuss anything that is shared by my clients to anyone. That being said, a coach-client relationship is not a legally confidential relationship, and I would have to break confidentiality if there is any concern about a client potentially harming one’s self or others. I just share this upfront with all potential and current clients.
Once you schedule your introductory session, if both of us as client and coach agree to partner together as a team, we will set up regular 60-minute coaching sessions or 90-minute discovery sessions, depending upon what you have purchased. Some clients like to meet weekly; others prefer meeting biweekly. The choice and pace of sessions is really up to each client, but I do strongly recommend connecting at least twice a month at the very least for optimal momentum. All sessions are held via Zoom (video conference) or by phone, based upon the client’s preferences.
I am committed to being transparent with my prospective and current clients about pricing when it comes to their coaching work. As you can find on my Appointments page, you’ll clearly see the current pricing structure for all of my coaching work. I think it’s important that you have this information upfront so that you can determine if I’m the right coach for you based upon your financial needs. If I’m not, I’m happy to help make referrals to other coaches within my professional network. If my coaching prices fit your need, but you might benefit from a payment plan model for coaching packages, let’s discuss this one-on-one. Again, I value transparency and access so I want to do what I can within my own business and structure to support you and your needs as a client.
Admittedly, it can be scary being vulnerable sometimes to talk to someone about what’s happening in our lives. Please know that I will do my absolute best to create an environment together where you feel heard, valued, and seen. We may do some tough, difficult work together, but all of it is done in the service of allowing you to transform and work toward a more fulfilling future.
Additionally, as a coach, I always am interested in gaining feedback from my clients. Regularly, I will check in with you to get clarification, discuss and assess our progress, and find out if there are ways that I can do a more effective job supporting you. Please be honest and share what you need.
